Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd (CKSB) was appointed by EPU to carry out the Solid Waste Management Master Plan Study in Sabah. This comprehensive Master Plan Study was prepared with the aim of developing suitable central disposal system, accompanied by haulage distance, transition sites and transportation for the twenty-two (22) local authorities in Sabah. The Study covered a long-term projected program of over a period of thirty (30) years.
It consisted of a comprehensive study of the problems and its practical solution for a proposed system in the whole Study area. Over the next ten to thirty years, the three most challenging issues faced by the State are:
- Socio-Economic Impacts and Benefits to The Locals in Baleh
- Hydrological Impacts of Reservoir and Downstream River flow
- Ecological Impacts
- Biomass Removal and Management at The Reservoir
- Land Use Planning Especially in The Reservoir Catchment
- Disaster Management Plan
