As part of a CSR initiative, Chemsain sponsored the venue for the Seeing Eye to Eye (SE2E) Conference 2019 which was held at the state of the art Auditorium of Chemsain Building, Kuching, on 19 October 2019.

This 9th Joint District 3300 and 3310 SE2E Conference is an ongoing Annual Event coordinated by the Rotary International’s District Action Group for Blindness Prevention (DAGBP) of District 3300 and the Blindness Prevention Committee of District 3310. With the theme “Preventing Blindness in ASEAN and Beyond: A Sarawak Initiative”, the conference aimed to increase awareness on the importance of eye screening and blindness prevention in Sarawak.

The conference was launched by The Honourable Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Minister of Youth and Sports Sarawak, representing The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak. A total of 200 participants which included around 100 teachers from various schools, attended the conference.

Apart from the Conference, there were also eye screenings conducted throughout Sarawak with the aim to check, diagnose and treat selected eye deficiencies.  Organised by the Rotary Club of Kuching this year, the conference and eye screenings were supported and sponsored by OCBC Bank Kuching Branch, National Council of the Blind, Malaysia, and Sarawak Convention Bureau. Prescription lenses for eye screenings were sponsored by Essilor (M) Sdn. Bhd.
